Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation was registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 on 28 May 2007. The Foundation has been established in pursuance of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation as a non-profit, non-political, non-government, voluntary and charitable organization for the service of humanity and for all kinds of charitable purposes.

The Foundation is carrying out its activities through various social development initiatives and services for distressed people across Bangladesh. The Foundation also provides educational support to meritorious but underprivileged students through scholarships, financial assistance to flood, cyclone, and disaster-affected people, support for poor and distressed individuals, and financial assistance for the development of culture and sports in the country.
